Nokia 3.2 lands in South Africa for R2399

HMD Global (which owns the manufacturing license for Nokia Mobile) has been on a tear of late when it comes to releasing value for money smartphones, having already brought the Nokia 4.2 to the country on 12th June.

Now the latest offering to land locally is the Nokia 3.2, which is one of the entry-level smartphones that HMD Global showcased at MWC 19 earlier this year. The device is finally available to buy from Vodacom and other retail partners from 19th June onwards, carrying a recommended price tag of R2 399, or R179 per month on a 24-month contract.

As for what you’ll be getting for that price, the Nokia 3.2 sports a relatively large 6.26″ HD+ screen up front, with a screen notch that houses a 5MP camera that supports face unlocking. This is a fairly noteworthy feature given the phone’s price point.

Looking at what else is on offer, the rear camera setup sees a 13MP lens pulling duty, with a fingerprint sensor sitting just below that. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor doing the heavy lifting, and Nokia is bringing the 2GB RAM with 16GB onboard storage model to South Africa.

Other notable features include Android 9.0 Pie as the native operating system out of the box, as well as a large 4 000mAh battery.

Given all that HMD Global is packing into the Nokia 3.2, it should be yet another tempting smartphone for cost-savvy consumers.
