Amazon Prime Day is soon upon us, with this year bringing a change that fans of online deals will be very intrigued to hear. For 2019, Amazon is doubling the amount of Prime Days, as it will last 40 hours on 15th and 16th July.

For those who do not get the online sales fix during Black Friday each year, Prime Day usually serves up some great deals. The landing page for the event is already beginning to prepare, with launch specials.

If you’re interested in the deals it’s also important to note that you need to be an Amazon Prime member in order to apply.

“Our vision is that Prime Day should be the absolute best time to be a member – when you can enjoy shopping, savings, entertainment and some of the best deals Prime members have ever seen. Stay tuned as we reveal exclusive savings at Whole Foods Market, thousands of new product launches, as well as world-class entertainment and more, leading up to Prime Day on July 15 and 16,” he adds.

For this year’s Prime Day, Amazon is bringing it to the United Arab Emirates for the first time, with the country also joining the following regions – the US, UK, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, and Australia.

Sadly South Africa is not listed as an official region just yet, but with Amazon Web Services investing in local data centres next year, that could soon change. As such South Africans wanting to get in on Prime Day will need to employ a few “creative” methods like VPNs or enlisting friends and relatives living abroad.
