Game adaptations of anime have always proved a little hit and miss, but we’re hoping that Bandai Namco’s plan to make a One Punch Man one will change all that.

The developer’s YouTube page played host to a new trailer for the game titled One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, confirming that it will be available to play on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC, but not mentioning when it would launch.

For now it simply states “coming soon”.

In the interim we have the trailer below to enjoy, as well as some time to theorise what the gameplay, story arcs and time it will take to finish the game will be.

For anyone who knows the anime, or indeed the manga it is based on, the bald protagonist Saitama is impervious to any damage and can beat foes with one punch, hence the name. As such, if Bandai wants to keep to the tradition of the series, if players use Saitama in-game, fights should end fairly quickly.

Luckily there will be other characters from the series joining One Punch Man, with the trailer showcasing Genos, Hellish Blizzard, Speed-o’-Sonic and our personal favourite Mumen Rider. As for what other characters will be included remains to be seen, but we’re assuming most of the big bads from the anime will feature when the game releases.

Depending on when Bandai plans to release this adaptation, it could prove a handy companion as we wait for the English dub of the second season of One Punch Man to debut.

If you’re unfamiliar with the character, we highly recommend given the first season a watch.
