Special version of Avengers: Endgame to play in South Africa from 12th July

Some time ago it was announced that Avengers: Endgame would be getting another special theatrical run before it leaves cinemas for good, and South Africa will be part of it.

It has been dubbed the “Bring Back Event” and will feature an introduction by one of the directors in Anthony Russo, a deleted scene and a look at Spider-Man: Far From Home.

It’s worth noting that there are a few caveats. Firstly that deleted scene is unfinished, so we’re more getting something akin to a DVD extra rather than an extended version of the original movie.

Next is that look at Far From Home. The Spider-Man movie launches in South Africa on 5th July, but the Bring Back Event only starts on 12th July. We’re almost certain that everyone looking to see Endgame again through this event will also be seeing Far From Home on release or at least close to it.

While we know this version of the film will show from 12th July, we’re not sure how long it will remain in cinemas.

The final note here is where and how you will be able to see this version of the film. It’s only being offered up in 2D, and only at the following theatres –

Ster-Kinekor theatres:

  • Capegate
  • Cresta
  • Gateway
  • Irene
  • Kolonnade
  • Mall of Africa
  • Parow
  • Sterland, Eastgate
  • The Zone @ Rosebank

Nu Metro theatres:

  • Canal Walk
  • Clearwater
  • Galleria
  • Menlyn Park
  • Pavilion
  • The Glen

Other theatres:

  • Century Cinemax Northgate
  • Epic Mall@Reds
  • Epic Northridge
  • Movies @ Emnotweni
  • Movies @ Monte

To coincide with the event a new poster has been released for it, featuring the Nano Tech Gauntlet as well as the phrase “We Love You 3000”.
