Samsung CEO admits he rushed launch of the Galaxy Fold

Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy Fold has been less than ideal, with the device needing several manufacturing changes in order to improve the significant issues spotted by reviewers a few weeks after initially being revealed earlier this year.

The company’s co-CEO, DJ Koh, has recently acknowledged as much, adding that he rushed the launch of the foldable phone before it was ready for the market.

According to The Independent, Koh shared his thoughts with a group of reporters earlier this week, adding that the entire debacle “was embarrassing.”

While the CEO has been quite candid about the situation, he has not been able to provide anymore insight into the Galaxy Fold’s new launch date. He has however, stated that Samsung has “defined all of the issues and all of the problems” with the Galaxy Fold.

As for a new launch date, Koh says the device is not quite ready yet, asking consumers to “give us a bit more time.”

If we were to go out on a limb as to when it would be ready, the Galaxy Note 10’s launch on 7th August would likely be the best occasion, as it would afford Koh and company to apologise for the issues, as well as explain what changes have been made to the Fold to improve performance and quality.

One question still remains though. Will consumers still be keen on buying the device, given its issues to date?
