Harley-Davidson joins the LEGO family, set coming 1st August

LEGO has been on something of a streak lately, working with new IPs like Stranger Things, Overwatch and Minions. Now the latest brand to be turned into a LEGO set is arguably the most recognisable motorcycle maker – Harley-Davidson.

10269: Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is a 1 023 piece set of the titular bike and, apart from looking extremely accurate to the real thing, it also features a simulated drivetrain with a chain connected to moving pistons.

Other details include a dark red and black “paint” job, a working kickstand so it doesn’t fall over, and never seen before LEGO pieces, such as the incredibly wide rear wheel. You can see more of the impressive details in the gallery below.

The assembled build is 33 centimetres long, 20 centimetres tall and 18 centimetres wide, which definitely earns it that Fat Boy name.

Depending on where you live the set will be selling for $99.99 / £84.99 / €89.99 and will be on general sale come 1st August. Those living in countries which support LEGO’s VIP programme will be able to buy it earlier on 17th July if they are a member.

This is the first time LEGO has made a set based on the Harley-Davidson license, but it will be included in their Creator Expert theme. This line of toys is usually larger, more expensive and features buildings and vehicles which are recreations of notable real creations.

A classic Mustang, the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander and James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 are all included in this theme. And yes, the DB5 does feature a working ejection seat.
