Second season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive crosses the line in 2020

Earlier this year Formula One and Netflix brought us a behind the scenes look at the cutthroat world of F1 in Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

The series looked specifically at the 2018 season and followed a handful of teams from race to race.

Season two will do the same but this time all 10 of the F1 teams competing in the 2019 season will get a spot in the series. The second season is due for release in 2020 but an exact release date is yet to be announced.

The inclusion of all teams means we might get to see more from heavyweights such as Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz which didn’t feature much in the first season. With Mercedes currently dominating the season we’re keen to see behind the scenes of a team that is clearly the one to beat.

“We are thrilled to once again be working with Netflix on the second series of Drive to Survive,” director of media rights at Formula 1, Ian Holmes said in a media statement.

“Drive to Survive has enabled us to reach a entire new fanbase globally and partnering with Netflix for a second season ensures we are continuing to put fans at the heart of what we do and make the sport more open and accessible to all,” added Holmes.

For those who haven’t watched the first season of the series we highly recommend it, even if you aren’t a fan of the sport. The show gives you an excellent idea about what makes the sport exciting and finally gives credit to the folks behind-the-scenes rather than just the drivers.
