AltCoinTrader founder, Richard de Sousa among speakers at Crypto Fest 2019

We’re a little over a month away from the first ever Crypto Fest in South Africa and attending the event is about to become a bit more of a temptation.

The folks at Bitcoin Events have announced who will be speaking there as well as a number of panel discussions that will be taking place.

For starters AltCoinTrader founder Richard de Sousa will be presenting the keynote on 7th September. The founder will set the scene for the event with his keynote “Trends and Overview of the Crypto Landscape”.

With five years experience under his belt with AltCoinTrader we suspect this keynote will be incredibly valuable.

Then Bitcoin Events has also alerted us to a panel “discussion”. We use the quotation marks because the discussion is being presented under the titles “Battle of the Coins”.

The Bitcoin Civil War between Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision (BSV) is hotter than ever, with existential stakes for different communities of stakeholders. Many different opinions exist in the crypto community on which bitcoin is the true bitcoin.

Rocelo Lopes (CoinBR), Lorien Gamaroff (Centbee) and Warren Gray (Blockstarters) will make their case for the currency the support and James Preston will moderate the discussion. The audience will be able to pose questions to Preston or submit them via social media using the #CryptoFest2019 tag.

Another discussion taking place that is of interest is titled “Libra Coin: What Does it Mean for Crypto”.

Taking part in that discussion will be Grey Jabesi (United Africa Blockchain Association), Professor Angela Itzikowitz (ENSafrica) and Tshepo Magoma (EOH). The discussion will centre around Facebook’s newly announced cryptocurrency and what it means for the market. The discussion will be moderated by Farzam Ehsani.

As the event will be taking place at Shimmy Beach near the V&A Waterfront there will be an after party for all attendees.

Hypertext will be attending Crypto Fest 2019 as an official media partner so if you can’t make it to the event we will be there to cover all the news, keynotes, discussions and more.

For a full list of speakers and the programme head here and if you’re still in need of tickets those can be purchased through the Crypto Fest website.
