ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS BELOW.

Attention local vloggers and/or content creators, DJI’s latest smartphone gimbal, the Osmo Mobile 3, is expected to land in South Africa by mid-September.

With this latest piece of DJI yet to be officially unveiled by the firm, it’s good to hear that South African content creators are being catered for. There’s also a few weeks to go until it’s available to purchase, leaving some to save up for the recommended R1 895 price tag the Osmo Mobile 3 has attached to it.

That price is for the standard version of the smartphone gimbal, which also includes a wrist strap, storage pouch and anti-slip pads. The more expensive Combo Pack will retail for R2 195 (RRP), and features a grip tripod and carrying case, along with the standard Mobile 3.

As for what makes this third iteration of the popular gimbal noteworthy, DJI points to its new foldable design, along with having its control easy to access for one-handed use. Added to this is a Quick Roll function which switches the orientation from portrait to landscape.

There’s also a handy feature in ActiveTrack, which can activate by tapping a trigger once, then the Osmo Mobile 3 will begin tracking while keeping the subject centred within the frame.

The DJI Mimo app is another aspect worth talking about, as it helps to empower many of the functions onboard the Osmo Mobile 3. These include hyperlapse videos, as well as 4x and 8x slo-mo recording, and a Sport Mode that enhances the responsiveness of the gimbal akin to that of the far larger and more expensive Ronin series of pro gimbals.

If you’re looking to invest in some new creator hardware, it’s definitely worthwhile waiting to see what the Osmo Mobile 3 can add to the mix next month.
