Need for Speed Heat drops 8th November, with gameplay coming next week

Yesterday EA dropped its reveal trailer for the latest edition in the Need for Speed (NFS) franchise, with the first visuals for Need for Speed Heat landing online.

It’s been some time since a NFS game has truly wowed us, especially as things have followed a rather formulaic design in recent iterations. With Need for Speed Underground being the most memorable version of the game that we can recall, hopefully Need for Speed Heat can change all this.

As for the reveal trailer, featured below, it does not “reveal” all that much in terms of what this title is serving up. The broader strokes seem to be players/racers going up against a rogue police force, while trying to work their way up the street racing ranks.

It seems like a fairly similar approach that EA has adopted for previous NFS games, so we’ll have to wait for more information before we can place an early verdict on Heat. That deeper look at gameplay will not have to wait too long though, with a gameplay trailer scheduled for release at Gamescom 2019 next week.

Should said trailer do the trick, you’ll be able to get your hands on Need for Speed Heat on 8th November, with EA already making it available for pre-order.

Diehard fans of the franchise have likely pledged their money already, bit those sitting on the fence (like ourselves) will probably wait to see what the actual gameplay looks like.
