Sasol ramps up artisan training programme

Last week Sasol celebrated the graduation of 20 learners from a professional welding programme.

This forms part of Sasol’s artisan training programme which includes partners such as the Mozambique Institute of Vocational Training and the Labour Studies Alberto Cassimo.

The artisans graduated from the Inhassoro Training Center in the Inhambane province.

“As Sasol, we invest in targeted education, skills development and capacity building of Mozambicans. We wish to play our part in reducing unemployment, promoting the development of local skills in response to the market needs of the oil and gas sector, and developing a much-needed pool of skilled Mozambicans,” said managing director for Sasol Mozambique, Ovidio Rodolfo.

Since opening in 2014 the Inhassoro Training Center has seen 320 artisans graduate with 460 more to be trained in the coming years.

“We believe that learnerships programmes are a critical platform to enable the youth of Mozambique. In partnership with Mozambique Institute of Vocational Training and Labour Studies Alberto Cassimo (IFPELAC), we have established the training centre in Inhassoro,” Rodolfo said.

Congratulations to the graduates and here’s hoping Sasol’s training programmes grow from strength to strength.
