Apple’s next event happening 10th September with the iPhone 11 expected

A couple of weeks ago, reports suggested Apple would host its next product-focused press conference on 10th September, and now the Cupertino-based firm has officially announced that an event is scheduled for that date.

The event is happening at 19:00 local time at the Steve Jobs Theatre, and just like those rumours from a couple of weeks ago, the next iPhone is expected to make an appearance.

The iPhone 11 to be more precise, if industry insiders are to be believed, with Apple thankfully dropping the confusing X naming convention.

While Apple has not mentioned any specifics at this stage, we’ve heard that three new iPhones are on the way, which will serve as successors to the current iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr devices. As such we should get a standard model, a larger display option, and a slightly lesser specced variant with the iPhone 11 range.

As for any other details or hints, looking at the header image for the Apple event, there could be some more colour options on the cards for the iPhone 11, and the replacement for the Xr model in particular.

That series of phone has featured a number of colour options which have deviated from the usual silver, space grey and gold options that Apple has favoured in the past.

Perhaps though Apple may be issuing more vibrant colours for the standard and larger iPhone 11 too? It’s a marketing technique that’s done wonders for the likes of Huawei and its twilight colourway.

Speaking of the Chinese firm, it too is expected to debut a new device in mid-September. With Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 10 launching locally today, it should be interesting to see how Apple’s upcoming hardware fares against its two staunchest rivals.
