Six new trailers to watch before the weekend gets underway

August draws to a close this weekend, and to ring it in in the right way, we’ve done our usual roundup of the best new trailers that the past week has served up.

This latest roundup features six in particular that we think are the most interesting, each for different reasons.

First is the final trailer for Jaoquin Phoenix’s take on the Joker, which hits cinemas in early October. We’ve included here because with each new trailer the film looks like it could actually be good, especially as recent DC films have proved a little hit and miss. This final one is no different, adding a closer look at Robert De Niro as TV host Murray Franklin, who seems to play a central role to the development of the Clown Prince of Crime.

We also got trailers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker from Disney’s D23 event, with it heavily hinted that Rey will turn dark, although we think this is a red herring.

Added to this is an Amazon Prime project called Aeronauts, reuniting Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones from their Theory of Everything days, along with upcoming Netflix properties in The King and The Spy, as well as a new trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate, which is yet to get us excited for another instalment in the franchise.

As always, if any of those trailers sound interesting, scroll down further and give them a watch below.
