Huawei will reveal its Mate 30 on 19th September

Samsung kicked off the second half of 2019’s smartphone releases with the Note 10 series last month and now we’re waiting for news from Apple and Huawei.

The latter is set to release its Mate series before the end of the year and we’ve been waiting for news on its release. At the weekend that news broke cover.

So we’ll be seeing the Huawei Mate 30 for the first time on 19th September but more interesting than the device’s looks will be what it will be running when you power it on.

As you might recall, due to the ongoing trade-war with China and the US, Google cannot allow Huawei to use its official apps for Huawei smartphones.

Rumour has it that the Mate 30 will still run Android but it will devoid of the apps that users have grown accustomed to such as Maps, Gmail and even the Play Store.

While Huawei has announced HarmonyOS the firm itself has said the operating system won’t be used to replace Android. Of course this was before the firm had a premium smartphone and a barebones operating system to pair it with so at this stage anything could happen come 19th September.

Of course Huawei could ship the Mate 30 with Android sans the apps but we foresee that not sitting well with fans of the brand.

As for the handset it is said to feature a quad-camera array arranged in a circle as well as a “waterfall” display similar to Samsung’s Infinity Edge display according to The Verge.

The Mate 30 release should be rather interesting and we’ll be sure to bring news of the release on 19th September.
