Vodacom World is now home to an esports hub

Vodacom has launched its own esports hub at its own mall, Vodacom World.

Located in Midrand, Vodacom World is no stranger to playing host for various events including the annual DevConf. But now Vodacom is setting up a dedicated space in its newly revamped mall especially for esports.

“We are excited to be introducing an esports hub at our digitally-led mall, Vodacom World. We believe there are great synergies between the gaming and esports scene and Vodacom in that the one glue that connects gamers with their games is the network capability, connectivity and speeds,” said managing executive for retail operations at Vodacom, Samantha Botha.

The hub will host a number of gaming events and experiences starting off with a chance to win tickets to Vodacom rAge later this month.

From 9th to 23rd September, visitors at Vodacom World can try their hand at reaching the top of the leaderboard in one of three titles in order to win Vodacom bundles and tickets to the NAG LAN at rAge.

The three titles that you can compete in are:

  • Fortnite (Mobile)
  • Dota Underlords (Mobile)
  • F1 2019 (PlayStation 4)

Winners will be announced daily and you can keep up with the event over on Mettlestate’s website. Mettlestate is the organiser of this event.

“We have no doubt that gamers who visit the mall during September will experience world class gaming through SA’s leading network, while competing for NAG LAN tickets that will give them access to rAge – tickets that can only be won at Vodacom World,” says Botha.

If you’re looking for NAG LAN tickets at the last-minute then, perhaps its worth popping into Vodacom World and checking out its new esports hub, we’re very curious to check it out for ourselves.
