Earlier this week Apple’s iPhone 11 event took place at the Steve Jobs Theatre, and reaction to the announcements can best be described as mixed. Following the flurry of new videos released for the Apple Event highlighting different elements of freshly minted products, there was also a recap video that the firm released post-event.
At two minutes long, the video seems fairly straightforward, but those paying attention noticed an easter egg.
Before reading further check out the video pasted below to see if you can see the easter egg we’re talking about.
Do you see the easter egg? Neither did we, but it’s there at the 1:24 mark for about a tenth of a second. If you happen to pause the video just right, you’ll see some code and a message pop up.
This is what redditor Gcarsk did, finding the precise frame with a hidden message. The frame in question features the title Error Code, followed by 09102019, which eludes to the date of the iPhone 11 event.
After the break, the message, “This is just a thought. But it might be nice to have some sort of easter egg message in here for the hard core Apple fans that will stop the video.”
There is then a few lines of binary, which TechCrunch decided to run through a binary-to-ascii translator. We won’t tell you what the message says, but will rather let you do decrypt it for yourself at this translator.
We will however, save you the trouble of jotting down the binary code, which happens to be:

While a lot of things have changed at Apple in recent years, at least it’s capable of throwing in some whimsy every now and then.
