Catalyst Africa conference will bring tech and creativity together in October

With the Gartner Symposium happening next week and the SA Innovation Summit happening now, South Africa’s conference schedule is not growing thin.

Case in point is the Catalyst Africa conference taking place from 30th to 31st October 2019 at the Portswood Ridge Precinct located at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

The conference will take the form of multiple sessions where attendees can choose their own experience.

The topics discussed will fall under three key themes: technology, creativity and mindset. The exact details of talks within each topic follow below.

Technology

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Augmented Reality
  • Facial Recognition
  • Robotics & Drones
  • Internet of Things

Creativity

  • Design
  • Photography
  • Music & Film
  • Art & Sculpture
  • Food & Gastronomy
  • Design Thinking

Mindset

  • Collective Power
  • Consciousness
  • Curiosity & Adaptability
  • Behavioural science

That’s quite the mix of topics but according to co-founder of Catalyst Africa, Dale Imerman, that is sort of the point.

“The most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together. Our concern is with the actual doing or use of knowledge rather than with theory and ideas to ensure Catalyst Africa attendees are both inspired and equipped to action their ideas,” said the co-founder.

Tickets for the event are priced at R1 111 each and a number of partners have come on board including the City of Cape Town, AWS, and Wesgro among others.

Tickets for Catalyst Africa will be available from Monday via the official website.
