Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Witcher 3 & Nintendo Switch Lite playable at Comic Con Africa

Despite its name there will be a lot of gaming-focused stands at Comic Con Africa, with the local arm of Nintendo offering up three enticing experiences if you visit its stand during the four-day event.

The first two of these are both what is being called “exclusive demos” of games which are not released yet. Luigi’s Mansion 3 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be playable for the first time in South Africa.

The release dates for these games are 31st October and 15th October and respectively, so attendees are going to be able to get their hands on them a decent amount of time before the general release.

While this does happen on occasion at South African conventions, it’s not often that we get to try unreleased software, so this is a nice surprise.

Aside from those two games a dozen other titles will be on offer comprised of already-released titles. The games on offer here are a good range of choices and include the Switch exclusives that make the console so enticing for those with existing hardware:

For those more interested in new hardware the Nintendo Switch Lite will be launched at Comic Con Africa. While the local release date for the console is a day before the event starts – 20th September – the console being demoed here allows those on the fence to give it a spin before putting any money down.

The Nintendo Switch Lite has an RRP of R3 999, which is R2 000 below the price of the original Nintendo Switch. We’re not sure if the new console will be on sale at the Nintendo stand, but we recommend having that much saved up if you’re keen on buying one on the day.

Comic Con Africa takes place between 21st and 24th September at the Gallagher Convention Centre.

Those who still haven’t bought tickets can try and win some for free in our ongoing contest which closes soon.
