Comic Con Africa organisers say you can cancel your ticket for a full refund

In recent weeks the Comic Con Africa Twitter account has been abuzz for all the wrong reasons.

The organiser of the event, Reed Pop, this morning revealed that Avengers star, Anthony Mackie would not be attending the event due to him being stuck on set in Budapest.

That means that Mackie joins Isaac Hempstead Wright, and Leon Chiro on the list of last-minute cancellations.

For many attendees this news may have them reconsidering attending the event and if you happen to be such a person we have good news.

During a media briefing this morning managing director at Reed Exhibitions, Carol Weaving told Hypertext that anybody who cancels their ticket will get a full refund.

This is rather interesting as the Terms and Conditions for Computicket (the platform Comic Con Africa tickets are sold through) state that cancellations seven days or less before the event would carry a 100 percent cancellation fee.

That cancellation fee will be waived however so you can cancel your attendance without worrying about losing your money.

To cancel your ticket you will need to contact Computicket as it is the ticketing platform. You can give Computicket’s call centre a ring on 0861 915 8000 (calls charged at R0.65pm) or alternatively you can contact it electronically here.

Comic Con Africa has also said that pre-purchased photo ops and autograph sessions with Anthony Mackie will be refunded shortly.
