Seagate Ironwolf 110 SSD – The strength of the pack in your NAS

Platter drives or hard disk drives have been the go-to solution for anybody building out network attached storage (NAS) solutions for years, but Seagate is shaking that up.

The firm has launched its solid-state drive range which includes the long standing Ironwolf series, designed specifically for applications in a NAS environment.

The Ironwolf 110 SSD is the latest in the Seagate family and has capacities that range from 240GB to 3.84TB. The drives contain ultra-reliable 3D TLC NAND chips and come with a five-year limited warranty. The 110 series is also equipped with enterprise-class DuraWrite technology.

As you may be aware, SSDs have a finite amount of reads and writes (expressed in terabytes written or TBW) that it can do. DuraWrite is a compression engine that lessens the wear on an SSD that occurs during file transfers. The logic is that by compressing the data you impact the terabytes written to a lesser extent. This is especially valuable in the context of a NAS where the 24/7 demands of the drives could cause them to fail.

The Ironwolf 110 SSD can also be seamlessly integrated into an all-flash array. For businesses that employ the use of a multi-user environment, the sustained data rates of up to 560MB/s will be incredibly valuable. What’s more is that Ironwolf 110 series boasts up to two million MTBF and up to 7 000 TBW. For added peace of mind, Seagate offers up a 2-year data recovery service plan.

In addition to this, the Ironwolf 110 series features Ironwolf Health Management support. When using compatible NAS solutions from Asustor, Qnap, Synology and others, users can monitor the health of their Ironwolf drives and proactively intervene should something be amiss.

The Ironwolf 110 SSD can also be integrated into a NAS with Ironwolf HDDs giving business owners a way to comfortably make the transition from mechanical storage to flash.

Seagate’s Ironwolf SSDs for NAS are suited from small businesses and enterprise alike. No matter what your need, there is a Seagate solution for you.
