The iPhone SE 2 will reportedly have an iPhone 8 body with iPhone 11 speed

If you were left a little underwhelmed by the iPhone 11 Pro, there is a second iteration of the iPhone SE on the way next year. The first version was impressive mainly for the fact that it hinged off of the iconic design of the iPhone 5, while sporting up-to-date components.

According to a report from 9to5Mac, which cites our favourite Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, the iPhone SE 2 as it is being called will feature a design similar to the iPhone 8, with specifications that would place it on par with that of the iPhone 11, which we saw a couple of months ago.

While Apple is of course yet to confirm any of the reports, Kuo says the iPhone SE 2 will likely sport the same A13 Bionic chipset as the iPhone 11 along with 3GB of RAM to power all its functionality.

Speaking of which the new device could feature a fingerprint sensor placed in a physical home button up front, as well as dual lens setup on the rear and large bezels at the top and bottom of the screen.

As for a release date, we may not have to wait until September next year, with it believed that the iPhone SE 2 will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2020. There is naturally no price yet, but the phone is expected to cost in the $349 to $399 range, with it featuring 32GB of onboard storage.

If all these rumours are indeed true, it should be interesting to see if consumers will want to purchase the iPhone SE 2 should the latest iPhone devices be out of price range.
