Recently a partnership was announced between Bandai and Games Workshop, the company famous for the Warhammer and Warhammer 40K universes. Now you can put your money down for the first product of this pairing: a Space Marine action figure.

Before anyone starts typing up an angry comment stating that this is more in line with a premium display piece or some such other designation, “action figure” is the official name given to this product.

The “Bandai Primaris Intercessor Space Marine Action Figure” – its full name – is an eight inch (20.32 centimetre) replica done in the Ultramarines livery, complete with a claimed 50 points of articulation.

Aside from being able to pose your Space Marine as you please, inside the box you’ll also find the classic bolt rifle, as well as a combat blade. There will be swappable hands to accommodate these weapons and enable even more posing.

Games Workshop has been making unassembled, unpainted and static miniatures for decades now, so this product represents something completely new for the company.

Aside from Warhammr / 40K, Games Workshop is also known for extremely high prices on everything they sell. This action figure is going for $100 / £75 / €90 depending on where you live, which is actually a fair price when you look at comparable figures from Bandai as well as other similar figure makers.

Unfortunately this isn’t a case of simply paying the money and having it delivered (if you happen to live in the right country). Instead this is a kind of limited pre-order system, where you pay now and receive the product much later.

“Here at Games-Workshop.com, we’ll be taking orders for up to 9,000 of these action figures, and we expect them to go quickly,” the product description reads, “Once the order period ends in November 2019, Bandai will then begin production, and we’ll start fulfilling orders in the second quarter of 2020!”

If that doesn’t deter you, and you already have your credit card in hand, the action figure can be bought from the Games Workshop website.

Just be mindful of where you live and if this site will ship directly to you. In the top right corner of the site, click on the “Delivering to” button to change the region as necessary. This will, of course, change the price to match the local currency, and some countries are definitely paying more even after accounting for currency conversions.

If that is reason for pause, check out the Warhammer Community post about the action figure, which includes this great turnaround of it –
