Huawei Watch GT2 arrives in SA this month for R4999

While the local release of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is still not happening any time soon, anybody looking for a wearable from the Chinese firm is in luck.

The Huawei Watch GT2 will arrive in South Africa on 17th October and will retail for R4 999.

Huawei claims the wearable can operate for two weeks but that battery life is only possible with the heart rate monitor and call notification function running.

When running Bluetooth for the purpose of calling the Watch GT2’s battery life drops to 10 hours. When playing music or using the GPS continously you can expect 24 hours and 30 hours of life from the watch respectively.

The Watch GT2 also doubles as a fitness tracker and it can track up to 15 sports.

In addition your sleep quality is also monitored and rated according to Huawei TruSleep 2.0.

Ahead of its release, Huawei is running a pre-order special for the Watch GT2.

Any pre-orders for the Watch GT2 placed between 7th and 17th October on the Huawei Store website will receive a pair of Huawei FreeLace earphones for free. Usually these earphones retail for R2 499 so this is a good deal.

If you’re in the market for a new smart watch then perhaps the GT2 is worth a look.
