Dust off your candles, charge up your devices and cool some water because Eskom has announced this morning that load shedding may be on the cards today.
The utility this morning tweeted out that due to a shortage of capacity, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 9AM to 11PM.
Stage 2 load shedding calls for 2 000MW to be shed from the national grid.

The reasons for the shortage in capacity are not yet clear but as soon as Eskom issues a statement we will update this story.
For now we recommend checking your load shedding schedules.
These can be found on the Eskom website if you receive your power bill directly from the utility. For those that are billed by their municipality, be sure to check out your municipalities website for the schedule or contact them directly.
We also recommend the free Eskom Se Push application which will send you alerts should your area be primed for loadshedding. The app is available for Android and Apple iOS.
