AdBlock updates with several new features and a redesigned site

AdBlock has recently received a rather substantial update.

Those who use the software should see a popup when trying to access the internet, informing them of these changes as well as prompting a donation to keep the service going.

This update includes several main new features, some of which were introduced in previous versions of AdBlock but have now been rolled into this larger progression.

Advanced ad blocking is promised to try and get around “aggressive ad technology”, and when that failed the second feature of a redesigned troubleshooting process should come in handy.

Accessibility is the next selling point as the AdBlock popup menu can now be navigated by keyboard commands alone, making it easier to use for those not relying on a mouse. Finally the AdBlock options have also been changed up and settings for hiding Twitch ads have been improved.

The minutia of these changes for version 3.60.0 can be found in the update notice.

Aside from these changes the AdBlock has also received a face lift which you can view here.

As always, when we talk about such products we encourage people to support their favourite internet content in some other way if you choose not to see ads. We completely understand why it’s necessary to use services like AdBlock – even as a filtering software – but if you don’t support things you like there’s little chance they’ll continue operating into the future.
