Nokia 6.2 lands in SA next week with a R3 899 price tag

HMD Global has announced that its Nokia 6.2 smartphone will be available in South Africa from 7th November.

The handset will carry a R3 899 price tag but don’t let that price fool you into thinking this is a threadbare handset.

The Nokia 6.2 sports a 6.3inch display with a 1080X2280 native resolution. The aspect ratio isn’t the 16:9 version we’re accustomed to but rather a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The display has always-on functionality and it carries support for HDR10.

Inside you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 system on chip which houses an octa-core Kryo 260 CPU running at 1.8GHz.

In terms of memory the Nokia 6.2 has iterations with 3GB and 4GB of memory.

The Nokia 6.2 is also the first handset in the 6-series that sports a triple lens, rear camera. On snapping duty are a 16MP, 8MP (ultrawide) and 5MP sensors. The 5MP sensor acts as a depth sensor.

The camera allows for 4K video to be captured at 30 frames per second.

Up front is a single 8MP snapper with support for Full HD video at 30fps.

Onward to the “nice to have” features. The Nokia 6.2 houses a dedicated Google Assistant button. Buyers will also get a free three month trial for Google One, where they will be able to store 100GB of data across Gmail, Google Drive and Google Photos.

The Nokia 6.2 will be available exclusively from TFG (The Foschini Group) stores from 7th November for R3 899.
