The Witcher arrives on Netflix on 20th December

We’ve been waiting patiently for news on Netflix’s The Witcher series and late last night we received some great news.

Netflix has confirmed that the series will launch on the platform on 20th December globally.

Want even better news? All eight episodes of the first season will be available all at once for you to binge watch.

You want even better news? Okay well we’d say you’re being greedy but it just so happens we have a new trailer for you to watch below.

As you’re no doubt aware, The Witcher is based on the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski who has worked on the series’ creative team.

The exact story beat that will be followed is unclear at this stage but from the trailer above it looks like we’ll be seeing how Ciri became Geralt’s charge.

Other notable characters which will appear in the series include Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), Triss (Anna Shaffer) King Eist Tuirseach (Björn Hlynur Haraldsson).

We’re incredibly excited for this and our expectations are high given that Marvel’s Daredevil producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is producing the series.

Now we just need to endure the wait until the series lands. Perhaps we’ll give The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt another play through.
