When the Nintendo Switch Lite launched it was only available in three colours – grey, yellow and blue – but now a special version adorned with Pokémon iconography is going on sale tomorrow.
The Zacian & Zamazenta Edition of the console, as it’s being called, differentiates itself from the other Switch Lites thanks to its white body, and different colour buttons with light blue and light pink on the left and right respectively.
Flip the console around and Zacian and Zamazenta are illustrated on the back panel. These are the new legendary Pokémon representing the Sword and Shield games respectively.
Despite the fact that this console features a unique look and the Pokémon it is, thankfully, not any more expensive than the regular console. The Zacian & Zamazenta Edition sells for R3 999 no matter where you buy it, which is the RRP of the Switch Lite.
It’s worth noting now that despite this console being adorned with Sword and Shield branding, it does not have the game pre-installed and otherwise there’s no “free” copy of the game included with the console.
This is unlike the Pikachu & Eevee Edition of the original Switch, which cost a bit more but came pre-installed with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, and was bundled with the Poké Ball Plus.
The Zacian & Zamazenta Edition has been on pre-order in the country for some time now, so those who have ordered can expect their consoles to be shipped to them tomorrow. If a pre-order was made at a brick and mortar store, you should be able to pick it up in person tomorrow, but make sure with the store beforehand.
Early review and unboxings of this new version of the console are starting to go out as the console arrives in the wild, if you want to check those out before spending any money. We’re not sure what the availability of this edition will be going into the future, but the previously mentioned Pikachu & Eevee Edition is still available to purchase at the time of writing.
