PUBG Mobile’s Unknown Cash can now be bought using a Vodacom account

Vodacom customers can now buy Unknown Cash – the premium currency of PUBG Mobile – without the need for a credit or debit card.

The carrier has entered into a partnership with Tencent Africa and PUBG Mobile for this promotion, which was announced to selected Vodacom customers by way of an SMS this morning.

“Vodacom has enabled Direct Charge to Bill in the Midasbuy portal to allow Vodacom customers to purchase Unknown Cash (the in-game currency for PUBG Mobile) using their Vodacom account. The in-game currency is redeemed in the PUBG Mobile app for additional cosmetic items like skins, outfits etc,” a spokesperson tells us.

This means that, instead of using a card as you would normally, purchases made this way will show up on your Vodacom account instead.

While we’ve not used Midasbuy before, anyone wanting to partake in this promotion needs to head to the dedicated page for this event to begin. From here a Player ID needs to be provided, followed by the quantity of Unknown Cash you want to buy. “Carrier Billing” is the only payment option here, and is selected by default.

The price of the Unknown Cash bundles are as follows:

  • 30 for R7
  • 60 for R15
  • 180 for R46
  • 325 for R76
  • 660 for R152
  • 1320 for R305
  • 1 800 for R381
  • 3 850 for R763

Each bundle here offers a different amount of Unknown Cash per rand spent. Keep that in mind before making a decision.

Vodacom seems to be making more moves into the gaming market with its Direct Charge to Bill system. Earlier this week it announced that Xbox and Microsoft games could be bought in a similar manner, on top of other services like Spotify and Netflix.
