Here’s another trio of clips for The Rise of Skywalker

We’re just under two weeks away from the last entry in the new Star Wars trilogy. On 20th December The Rise of Skywalker will come out to put a cap on the adventures of Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron and the rest of the returning characters from the other two trilogies.

Despite The Rise of Skywalker receiving its final real trailer back in October, Disney has been steadily pumping out clips, featurettes and TV spots to keep people interested.

Saturating the market with this kind of advertising is something Disney has been called out on before, especially for Avengers movies. We thought Star Wars would be different, but that’s not the case.

Just recently we wrote about three of these clips being released for this movie, and now we have another three to look at.

The most recent of these is entitled “Friendship” and is more of a behind the scenes piece with not much from the movie itself.

After that we have a clip with no subtitle and again features on what’s happening behind the camera instead of in front of it.

This clip focuses on the original trilogy before moving into the new movies.

Our favourite bit from it must be original Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew sitting with new Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo, both watching footage of the character. There’s a snapshot of that pictured above.

Finally, the last clip has a title and it’s simply “Duel”. If you expected some people to be swinging laser swords, you are correct.

At just 30 seconds and the shortest video today, this does show the actual movie instead of behind the scenes content.

It’s mostly a new cut of footage that has been released so far, but does feature an extra second or two of Rey and Kylo Ren facing off from before. We believe that the shot of Rey watching over a downed fighter (it looks like Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer) as well as Poe shouting “no!” at a crashed X-wing are both new too.

Ian McDiarmid as The Emperor commenting that “this will be the final word in the story of Skywalker” is also new, but feels more like a line for marketing more than something that will be said in the movie.

If you’re not absolutely full up on Star Wars video content at this pint, there’s even more out there.

Also on the official Star Wars channel, uploaded recently but not in connection to The Rise of Skywalker, is a microdocumentary about the evolution of the Stormtrooper. It’s just under seven minutes long and worth your time.

More related to promotion for the 20th December release is John Boyega appearing on the popular interview show Hot Ones. While the longest piece here at around half an hour, it’s solid entertainment that Hot Ones is known for.
