Free games from Epic continue into 2020 with Sundered

If you’ve grown use to picking up a free title from the Epic Games Store every week well there’s no need to break that habit as the system will continue to operate going into the new year.

After the platform gave away a bevy of games in quick succession over 12 days in the holiday period, the release of free titles will continue on a weekly basis from 9th January.

Sundered: Eldritch Edition kicks things off 2020. The multi-platform Metroidvania from Thunder Lotus Games has received wide praise and, on the other platform Steam, it’s currently sitting with a Very Positive overall review standing with just over two thousand reviews.

Strangely, the announcement of Sundered going free for a week was bundled with news that the game For The King has been delayed on the Epic Games Store. No real reason has been provided as to why or when the game will be available.

If you’re not into Metroidvanias, the last three games from the aforementioned “12 Days of Free Games” are still available. Darksiders Warmastered Edition, Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition and Steep are still available to grab until 9th January, at which point the three will be replaced by Sundered.

Finally, in the last bit of Epic news, the Encore Week sale is still on and ends later today, in about eight hours at the time of writing. Various titles which were on sale during the Holiday Sale 2019 are still discounted for this last day, and don’t forget about the $10 coupon system which is also still live until Encore Week ends.
