Fourth Edition of Digital Lab Africa calling for applications before 1st March

Digital Lab Africa is back this year, now its Fourth Edition of the event focused on innovation when it comes to the local digital content creation community. Applications for the event are now open, and close on 1st March 2020 ahead of the Digital Lab Africa kicking off later in the year.

For those unfamiliar with Digital Lab Africa, it’s an initiative started by French Embassy and French Institute in South Africa, in conjunction with Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct, which has been managing this event since 2018.

“The Digital Lab Africa call for projects targets artists, producers, designers, start-ups, students in the media and creative industries. The call is open to anyone from Sub-Saharan Africa,” explains the application page for the Fourth Edition.

There are five categories under which creatives can enter – immersive realities, video game, music, animation and digital art.

“Selected applicants are granted with a DLA Incubation Pass to fast track the development of their project. Alongside mentorship and training sessions, the DLA cohort #4 will be hosted in residency in France and also attend industry events such as Annecy Animation festivalNewimagesParis Games Week or Les Nuits Sonores in France or in Sub-Saharan African region like Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation festival,” organisers add.
