Last few hours remain to vote in Cyberpunk 2077 photo contest

Back in October of 2019 the people behind Cyberpunk 2077 announced the start of a photography contest to capture real world stills that look like they may fit in the fame.

Entries closed for this contest on 16th November and community voting for the winners started soon after. This voting process closes today, 20th January at 11:59 PM CET, leaving you with just a few hours to cast your vote.

The full gallery to see the entrants and leave your vote is available right here.

As a contest open worldwide, there’s a very interesting feature to sort geographically. Follow the link above to find an interactive which you can rotate to find entries from wherever you choose.

It’s a bit messy in its implementation as some parts of the globe are divided by country, and others by continent.

The entirety of Africa, for example, is lumped together. Our entire continent only submitted six photos to the endeavour. Of those two are from here in South Africa – one from Cape Town and one in Johannesburg. The latter of which, an entry by user D2ME, can be seen in our header image above and on its dedicated page if you’d like to vote for it.

Aside from local pride, we would have imagined that Johannesburg would have more entries given the fact that it’s been the backdrop for cyberpunk-themed content in the past, such as 2012’s Dredd and several Neill Blomkamp movies.

After voting closes today the winners will receive prize bundles including Collector’s Editions of the game, RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards and more.

As Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed to 17th September, taking in all the entries for the contest while we wait for the game is a good idea, especially if you were on track for the original release date of 16th April. You may also want to watch the aforementioned Dredd and Blomkamp films.
