htxt.africast – Destiny 2’s puzzle, Naked Insurance and Pokémon

January may be going by slowly but another week has passed and there’s another africast to listen to.

For our news segments today we look at the immense financial cost loadshedding has had on South Africa, Netflix’s numbers after a heavily contested quarter, and yet another game delay joining the pile in early 2020.

Our longer content this africast starts with Destiny 2’s most ambitious puzzle yet. Over six days its community worked tirelessly and poured countless hours into solving the game’s latest puzzle. The reward at the end may not have been too exciting… but maybe the real reward was the friends we made along the way.

Next up is local company Naked Insurance which has recently moved into the home insurance space. We sat down with one of its co-founder Ernest North to learn more about this move, the value of its AI-driven platform, as well as company’s potential plans for the year and beyond.

Finally there’s been a deluge of Pokémon happenings in the past week. The limited animated show Twilight Wings has aired its first episode, a new movie is coming to Netflix, and a potential competitor in the form of Temtem has been released that will hopefully shake up the genre which Pokémon has such a tight hold on.
