Unboxing the mid-range Samsung Galaxy A51 [Video]

Earlier this week Samsung Mobile South Africa held a media event detailing three new devices that it was bringing into the country – the Galaxy A51, the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy Note 10 Lite. All three devices are expected to be available to purchase in early February, but is the A51 which we are focusing in on today.

This as we received the new mid-range smartphone for review, and have done an unboxing to give local consumers a better idea of what they’ll be getting if they purchase one.

Speaking of pricing, the Galaxy A51 carries a recommended retail price of R6 999, and is one of two new mid-range phones that Samsung unveiled in December last year. In terms of what the A51 is packing, the phone features the three key pillars that Samsung Mobile South Africa highlighted earlier in the week – great screen, great camera and long lasting battery.

In terms of those elements, the Galaxy A51 has a 6.5″ display, which has the an Infinity O design as the company terms it. This is essentially means there are minimal bezels and the the punch hole housing for the front-facing camera is placed centrally.

Said housing has a 32MP selfie camera. Switching to the rear a quad lens setup is found, consisting of a 32MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth sensing options. Lastly Samsung has given the A51 a large 4 000mAh battery to keep things ticking over for a long time. Whether it can last a full day will have to wait until our review of the device.

If the Galaxy A51 is a device that intrigues you, hit play on the video below and watch it be unboxed.
