An Animal Crossing themed Nintendo Switch is on the way

If you’re a hardcore Animal Crossing fan who has been waiting for the release of New Horizons to buy a Nintendo Switch, now is the perfect time as there’s a new skinned version of the console modelled on the games.

This is an OG Nintendo Switch, not the Lite, so it comes with removable Joy-Cons and a dock, all of which have been decorated in pleasing pastel colours.

Here the left controller is green, the right is blue, and the Joy-Con straps and dock share a tan colouring. The dock also features a small island design (with Tom Nook Tom Nook and Nooklings Timmy and Tommy) and the back of the console has a detailed all-black piece of art too.

What isn’t included here is the game itself. If you want to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons  on this console that will be a separate purchase.

This console will be available a week before the game comes out, which means you can pick it up from 13th March onward. The price in the US, is $299.99. This is the RRP of a regular Nintendo Switch, so you’re not paying extra here.

To keep your new console safe the “Aloha Edition” screen protector and carrying case will also be up for sale come 13th march.

This is far from the first time that a branded Nintendo Switch has been available. Versions for Pokémon Let’s Go, Diablo III and Pokémon Sword & Shield have all come out in the past. If your country or region has received those before, there’s a good chance that this new Animal Crossing variant will be available too.

These versions have usually been well received and have build quality on par with the stock console, so if you like the design here there’s little reason not to pick it up if you were already in the market for one.
