Pokémon: Twilight Wings episode 2 focuses on Bea

Pokémon: Twilight Wings is a seven episode-series animated short series focused on the new Galar region and the people and Pokémon in it, and after a long wait we finally have episode two.

Entitled “Training” this episode, embedded at the bottom of this post, focuses on fighting type gym leader Bea. In the games Bea is only present in Sword with the ghost type leader Allister taking her place in Shield.

In this edition of Twilight Wings, Bea takes to the Wild Area to train after losing to champion Leon, accompanied by her Machop, Machoke and Machamp.

We won’t go into what happens in the rest of the episode as it’s only six and a half minutes long.

Some things worth noting is that Bea is improbably hardcore. At one point her Machamp punches her and all that happens is that she needs a bit of bandage around her arm.

Also, right before the video ends, there is some stylised art work of certain scenes from the video.

Twilight Wings episode one, which instead focused on new characters, can still be watched right here. Episodes come out every month, so check back to Pokémon’s official YouTube channel in the middle of March for the third instalment.

Like we said for the first episode we’re disappointed that characters don’t have British or Scottish accents, as the Galar region is based on the United Kingdom. “Scottish Pokémon Trainer” has become a meme unto itself so we’re going to be pretty sad if this show wraps up later this year without a single strong accent.

As for who’s behind Twilight Wings, Studio Colorido is to thank for the rather gorgeous work here. Before this its two most recent products were Penguin Highway in 2018 and Typhoon Noruda in 2015. it also has a site dedicated to this new show, but it’s all in Japanese.
