Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on GeForce NOW from release

CD Projekt’s highly anticipated title Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on the GeForce NOW game streaming service when it releases come 17th September 2020.

As a quick refresher GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s cloud-based service that lets you play games from your various accounts without the need to run them on local hardware or mess around with installation.

This means that, if you have a membership, super fast internet and live in one of the limited supported countries, you can get into new games as soon as possible.

“GeForce NOW members will be able to grab their copy on Steam and play the game the moment it’s available. GeForce NOW Founders members can explore the streets of Night City with RTX ON, fully optimized and instantly available, even on your Mac laptop,” an announcement from NVIDIA reads.

While that sounds great, as alluded to earlier, the service is not available in many territories. For most heading to the official GeForce NOW website will just slap you with a “currently not supported in your region” alert.

Even for those in regions with support performance can vary depending on a number of factors, and all cloud streaming just isn’t at a point yet where it can fully replace local hardware. That being said we’re always happy to see more choices on the market, and having this game on an additional service can only be good for the consumer.

It’s worth ending off by mentioning another Cyberpunk 2077 and NVIDIA crossover. Earlier this week we learned that 200 special editions of the RTX 2080 Ti would be created with unique Cyberpunk 2077 branding.

Unfortunately these cards would not be sold, but instead just 77 would be given away in a number of contests. At the time of writing these contests are still ongoing and you can get the details to enter them here.
