If you’re into games made locally right here in South Africa you may want to check out Beautiful Desolation, as buying it right now will net you a free copy of Stasis.

Those unfamiliar with either title may have correctly guessed that the reason these two are bundled together is because they’re made by the same people. Stasis made a splash internationally when it launched back in 2015 and Beautiful Desolation looks to be doing the same thing when it debuted just a few hours ago.

Buying Beautiful Desolation on GOG will get you a free copy of Stasis until 4th March 2020, but this may not be the best way to get both titles depending on where you live.

This is because of regional pricing. Right now Beautiful Desolation is priced at $19.99 on GOG which is R307.37 at the time of writing.

Over on Steam Beautiful Desolation is reduced down to R117 in its opening week (a 10 percent discount) and Stasis costs R99. That brings the total to R216, which is less than the cost of the single new game on GOG.

That being said not everyone lives in South Africa (statistically most don’t) and many countries don’t have favourable regional pricing. On top of that GOG is, of the two platforms, the preferred place to get most games for many.

This is something we can’t really argue with especially as GOG just implemented an extremely generous refund policy that allows you to return games up to a month after buying them.

Putting aside platform differences, prices and bundles, Beautiful Desolation looks like a genuinely fun game that blends early Fallout goodness with a unique African edge and some stunning visuals.

Early reviews for the title are positive overall and you can see the game in action by way of the trailer embedded below.
