Apple is developing its own WeWork TV series

Last year the events that followed WeWork’s failed IPO attempt was like something out of a Hollywood script, and it looks like Apple thinks it would make for great TV, or streaming.

This as The Hollywood Reporter says the firm is actively trying to develop a show for Apple TV+ as an original series. The publication’s sources note that the producer behind Apple TV+’s Little America series is overseeing the development of the project, although the company is yet to officially comment on the situation.

The publication also notes that the WeCrashed podcast will serve as much of the inspiration and reference for the series.

As aforementioned Apple has not commented on the project, but if true, it would be the second WeWork-related TV series announced in a short period, with another project announced in December of last year. That project already has a lead, with Nicholas Braun from HBO’s Succession playing the part of former “mercurial” CEO Adam Neumann.

It’s unclear how heavily Neumann will feature in the Apple series, but the frankly insane stories that surfaced about the former CEO last year were almost to fantastical to believe, and therefore warrants a feature in the show.

These two series are not the only projects being developed about WeWork, with Variety reporting a film that’s in the works last year too.

Either way it looks like tech companies have become the latest resource rich for mining when it comes to entertainment.

It makes a lot of sense too, given how much firms like Google, Facebook, Amazon and others have become a part of our daily lives. As such a dramatic series about such companies would prove interesting for many.
