LEGO has revealed yet another branch in its line of Star Wars themed sets in the form of the so called “Helmet Collection” comprised of famous headware from the franchise which you can build and display.
Of particular note for these is the high age range, with “18+” listed on the box. This is worth mentioning as LEGO, a toy company, has been making moves to create more adult-focused products for some time now. Even these past products, with massive prices and high complexity, have retained lower age ratings and some play functions still intended for a younger audience.
With the Helmet Collection it looks like LEGO is finally, fully, leaning into products intended for adults and mainly for display.
If you’re reading this with a sense of déjà vu, it’s because this line of products was unofficially revealed by a retailer earlier this month. At that time, however, we only had some blurry pictures to look at, no concrete pricing and availability, and only two of the initial three helmets were shown off.
Right now the first wave of the Helmet Collection is comprised of three recognisable domes: Boba Fett, a Stormtrooper and a TIE Fighter Pilot.
These range in piece count between 625 and 724, with standard pricing for all three overseas being $59.99 / €59.99. Those outside of countries which use those currencies should expect to pay the Euro price (around R1 104 at the time of writing) plus a bit more for local taxes and imports.
As such this is going to be a rather expensive line to collect for those looking to get them all.
Regardless of people’s intentions to buy just one or all of these, they will be available for purchase come 19th April. Pre-orders will open on 18th March on top of this.

What isn’t listed on the boxes is the size of the assembled pieces, something many will want to know for these display pieces. These sizes have been revealed, however, and are as follows:
- Boba Fett: 21CM tall, 11CM wide, 11CM deep
- Stormtrooper: 18CM tall, 13CM wide, 13CM deep
- TIE Fighter Pilot: 18CM tall, 13CM wide, 15CM deep
