4 A Steal is the latest online retailer to offer food delivery during lockdown

Over the past two weeks we’ve seen a number of online retailers pivot to become essential goods providers during the national lockdown.

Now there is another option for South Africans to choose from, with a 4 A Steal announcing it too, will be able to deliver much-needed groceries and essentials to consumers stuck at home.

The online retailer, which has only been up and running for a month now, is currently operating in Johannesburg and Durban, offering 48-hour turnaround times and door-to-door deliveries for essential goods.

To access the service, you need to log onto the platform, and then head to the Food and Essentials tab to see what is available.

“The gravity of the lockdown has affected a significant number of businesses and people across the country,” says Benjamin Foulds, director of 4 A Steal, about the retailer’s decision.

“We’re hoping to not only meet the need of the #stayhome movement by delivering food goods directly to our customers, but have managed to remain competitive with the services that are already in operation thanks to Churchills International Express our courier partner,” he adds,

Along with offering the new essential goods, 4 A Steal also has a live chat function available, as well as a dedicated support team to assist consumers.

We have not used the service, to we cannot attest to its efficiency, but it is always worthwhile having a few options available, given how prices for items can vary between different online retailers.

“We’ve been hard at work setting up an essential-items delivery service in light of the current nationwide lockdown and are grateful to our partners for helping us keep service and delivery fees to a bare minimum. We can now provide our customers with an additional door-to-door home delivery shopping option that complies will all sanitisation protocols,” Foulds concludes.
