Ride-hailing services have been working overtime to insure that drivers and those in need of a ride are catered to.
In light of this, Bolt has announced a partnership with Shesha Tuks.
As part of this partnership, Bolt users in Sandton and Rosebank will be able to request a tuk tuk.
Why would you do that? For one it’s kinder to the environment, but if you’re looking for another reason, it’s 20 percent cheaper than catching a ride in a regular sedan.
Bolt says the tuk tuks will also be completing deliveries on behalf of Bolt Business Delivery and Bolt Food.
“Shesha’s mission to promote job creation and empowerment to a new generation of self-sustainable people aligns so well with what we believe in as a business. Bolt is committed to enabling the growth and development of the thousands of micro-entrepreneurs across the country and is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead with Shesha,” explained Bolt South Africa’s country manager, Gareth Taylor.
Bolt has also launched Bolt Van in Gauteng. At present this will allow up to three passengers to ride together. This limitation is in place given current lockdown regulations.
Bolt Food expands reach
Capetonians will be pleased to learn that Bolt Food is now available in the city.
From today, Bolt Food deliveries in Cape Town will be free until 23rd April. We should point out at this stage that while you can’t order fast food right now, but you are able to have essential goods delivered to your home.
Bolt Food is available for both Android and iOS devices and creating an account is free.
“We continue to provide sanitization products and services for Bolt drivers at driver centres across the country, and all the drivers signing up for these new categories are fully trained in the physical distancing, contactless delivery, and vehicle cleanliness requirements described by Government,” added Taylor.
“With our unwavering focus on entrepreneurship and how small businesses can help address South Africa’s unemployment challenges, these new categories will also help small and medium-sized businesses stay alive by delivering essential products and services to their customers,” Bolt’s local country manager concluded.
