Following amendments to the lockdown regulations published by Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma on Thursday, ICT firms rendering services and goods to essential service providers are now considered essential services.
In that regard, local distributor Rectron has announced that it will be open for business as of Monday 20th April onwards, albeit in a limited capacity.
“All our Rectron branches will be operational as from Monday 20 April from 9am until 3pm daily, for essential services and equipment only. We will be operating each branch with skeleton staff and request your patience with us during this time. Each branch will be open for collections only, unfortunately we are not able to deliver any stock at this time,” reads an email sent to Rectron customers.
Customers will also not be able to simply place an order and collect it.
As part of the amended regulations customers will need to provide the following when placing an order:
- Copy of your certificate for emergency services as issued by the CIPC
- ID documents of staff or couriers collecting stock
- Confirmed purchase order issued by your company on an official letterhead
Rectron has also said that no build-to-order requests or imaging of products will take place due to restrictions in place.
“Only orders paid for by EFT by no later than 3pm on the day prior to collection, or orders that are placed on accounts with terms, will be accepted as confirmed orders. Only once a confirmation has been made that EFT orders have been received on the morning of collection will be released. Our business continuity plans are reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure we are able to provide our services in a safe and responsible manner, ” the distributor explained to its customers.
Rectron has also explained that only a limited amount of people will be allowed into its buildings at any given time and hygiene standards are being strictly controlled and monitored.
“It is strongly advisable that those collecting stock wear a mask and that they practice social distancing at all times,” concluded Rectron.[Image – CC 0 Pixabay]
