Free Lives hints at Gorn on PlayStation VR

Free Lives, the extremely popular South African game developer, seems to be hinting about their popular VR game Gorn finally arriving on PlayStation VR.

Gorn was released into Steam’s Early Access programme back in July 2017 and then got its 1.0 release in July 2019.

Since its Early Access days Gorn has been a hit and is widely considered a must-play for those with access to VR hardware. At the time of writing, on Steam, it is sitting with an Overwhelming Positive review status with just over five thousand reviews.

All this time those on PlayStation have been patiently waiting for a port onto their platform. This was supposed to happen in 2019, but a delay got in the way.

With “early 2020” pencilled in as the new release period, some new tweets from Free Lives may be pointing in the direction of a release on PlayStation VR.

Free Lives cryptically tweeted out the phrase “We’ve passed the ultimate test – will you?” complete with a link to the Gorn Twitter page and a short gif.

That’s not much to go off of, but then the developer retweeted a PlayStation VR-focused account mentioning the potential port (see the bottom of this story).

To us this means that more details, and maybe a release, is upcoming for PlayStation users. The “ultimate test” could mean that the port has gone gold, but that’s just conjecture at this point.

Free Lives also suggested that people join their Discord server for “inside info”. We did just that but, at the time of writing, no further details have been provided.

This means that there’s even more waiting in store, but we’re sure more information will be available soon.
