Day 25 of lockdown and the figures regarding infections stand as follows.

As of 20th April there were 142 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 bringing the national total to 3 300 cases. There have sadly been four additional deaths related to the disease bringing the total to 58.

There is some good news however, recoveries have climbed to 1 055 with 165 new recoveries just yesterday.

This morning the Presidency announced that President Cyril Ramaphosa would address the nation this evening. The exact time of the address will be communicated through the course of the day, but we will update this story once that information is released.

The address will focus on “additional economic and social relief measures that form part of the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
