Super Mario Maker 2 gets its final major update tomorrow

A few hours ago Nintendo of America announced that Super Mario Maker 2, which launched in June 2019, would be getting its last big update on 22nd April 2020.

Fans of the seven Koopalings, pictured above, will be added in to ruin players’ days. That screenshot sees Mario taking them all on at once, something not unexpected in the various planes of suffering common in player-made levels.

World Maker is a new mode which, true to its name, allows players to create overworlds to string multiple levels together.

“Build a route for your courses, customize with additions like bridges & hills, and create your own Super World with up to 8 Worlds & 40 Courses! You can then share your creation in Course World,” Nintendo of America writes.

This will seeming allow more fleshed out experiences to be made and shared. We’re sure the community will use to it put together levels with a unifying theme to make worlds bordering on being their own games.

Finally a slew of new power-ups, wearables, course components and more. Our favourite of the bunch is the Frog Suit allowing Mario to skip across the surface of water. With the blue stuff being a common component in levels, especially the areas made to kill you, this suit should come in handy if the course creator is kind enough to include it.

With this being the last major update we have to wonder what support, if any, the game will be receiving going into the future.
