UPDATED: Check out the first cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

This story has been updated with additional information since publication.

After teasing the next title in the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft has dropped the first cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

As of time of writing we know nothing about the game aside from the fact that it’s set in the era of the Vikings as they war with England.

Players will take on the role of Eivor “a fierce Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory. Explore a dynamic and beautiful open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages. Raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in your quest to earn your place among the gods in Valhalla.”

We do, also have a “release date”. The end of the trailer simply states “Holiday 2020” which we’re going to assume means the end of the year.

While we were secretly hoping the fair-haired warrior in the trailer is the Ragnar Lodbrok of legend, it turns out that isn’t the case.

You can head to this URL to find out more about the game and pre-order.

If you missed the livestream of the teaser art created by Bosslogic yesterday, you can check out a timelapse of the artwork’s creation below.
