Free Update brings custom horde mode to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

While creations from fans and non-Disney companies are usually the focus of Star Wars Day, there are, of course, a slew of official announcements about the franchise. Most exciting to us is a new free update for 2019’s game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

“A new Meditation Training feature allows you to test yourself against waves of powerful enemies in arenas across the galaxy. Craft your own to take on your most hated foes and alongside your favorite allies,” reads the update’s description.

This is a horde mode by any other name, and you can see it in action in the short trailer released for the event.

While new ways to fight are always appreciated, the update also makes sure you look good while doing it.

You can replay the story with cosmetics unlocked from previous playthroughs, and there’s new outfits for both Cal Kestis and his droid partner BD-1. The highlight here is the Inquisitor outfit for Cal so you can stomp around a galaxy far, far away looking suitably stylish in black.

This also unlocks a pure red lightsaber, something fans of the game have been asking for since launched in November 2019.

If you have not played the game yet it is discounted on the Humble Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store for Xbox One. The discounts vary and the cheapest buy will depend what platform you want it on and which of those linked above supports your regional currency.

It’s also worth noting that the Humble Store has regional restrictions (we can’t even view the game in South Africa) while the others do not.

If you’ve already played Jedi: Fallen Order to death and this doesn’t tempt you to return, may we recommend 3D printing a 1:1 scale version of BD-1?
