Uber Eats will now deliver Exclusive Books orders in SA under lockdown

With South Africa’s lockdown still going on people may find themselves wanting to pick up a physical book to read when their backlog runs dry, or for those who weren’t able to get anything before the restrictions were put into place. Thankfully you can now get your fix from Exclusive Books by way of Uber Eats.

Leveraging the delivery network of Uber Eats, those wanting to get a new piece of literature need only open the app during trading hours to find an Exclusive Books branch near them.

At this time only a handful of stores are open, so if you fall outside of the five kilometre radius you are out of luck.

At the time of writing the following 14 stores are open and delivering by way of Uber Eats:

Johannesburg

  • EB Hyde Park Corner
  • EB Sandton City
  • EB Mall of Africa
  • EB Nicolway Bryanston

Pretoria

  • EB Menlyn Park

Cape Town

  • EB Cavendish Square
  • EB Constantia Village
  • EB V&A Waterfront
  • EB Table Bay Mall
  • EB Tyger Valley

KwaZulu-Natal

  • Gateway
  • Midlands Mall

Port Elizabeth

  • EB Walmer Park

Bloemfontein

  • EB Loch Logan

If you’re not within the radius of those stores Exclusive Books states that the opening will roll out nationwide.

It’s also worth pointing out that the promo code UNLTDZA for free delivery until 31st May is still in effect and does apply to book orders.

On top of this, Fanatics Points, the loyalty system at Exclusive Books, can still be earned with Uber Eats deliveries. Adding your Fanatics account number in the comment of the order should net you the points.

While it’s interesting that a food delivery app is now also offering books, there are other ways to get your order delivered. As explained in this newsletter phone-in, Instagram, in-store and regular online orders all have their own services running right now to get a physical book into your hands.
